ESP rights bill passes, awaits signature
On Monday, May 20, the Assembly passed NJEA’s ESP due process rights bill, A-3696/S-2163, by a vote of 51-26-1. This bill, which will give educational support professionals the right to binding arbitration in disciplinary matters, now heads to the governor’s desk to await his signature. Learn more
Nominate excellence for Educational Support Professionals
NJEA is accepting nominations for the NJEA Educational Support Professional (ESP) of the Year for 2014. One nomination from each local should be submitted to its county office on or before Friday, Sept. 27. Nominations from county associations are due at NJEA by Monday, Oct. 28. Learn more

ESP Career Achievement
This award is given to a currently employed NJEA member and ESP association advocate who has been employed for a minimum of 10years in public education. The winner will have demonstrated a successful, long-term professional dedication and success to his/heremployment position. Learn more
Friend of ESP
The NJEA Friend of ESP Award can be bestowed upon any person or organization whose leadership, acts, dedication, commitment, and support on the statewide level have proven that person or organization to be a true friend of and advocate for ESP and their contributions to public education and students. An individual recipient need not be an American citizen, but he or she should reflect the philosophy and principles of NJEA. Individual nominees may be public or private citizens, and selection of finalists will be made regardless of age, sex, race, color, or creed. If any individual nominee is eligible for active NJEA membership, such membership is a requirement. Learn more
