Families: A Community Unity Quilt
(Original Hipp Grant Awarded in 2000-- based upon a project of the same name)
In 2000, teachers Susan Duncan and Yvonne Herbst of Willingboro Memorial Junior High School (Burlington County) received a grant from the NJEA Frederick L. Hipp Foundation for Excellence in Education to fund their project entitled Families: A Community Unity Quilt. Now these innovative teachers will have the opportunity to share their experience with other educators through technology.
A $2,581 grant from Verizon will provide the support needed to fund the next phase of this community-centered project.
This grant to present the Families: A Community Unity Quilt grant will include five main objectives:
Provide teachers with professional development in technologies.
Make the necessary equipment available for replication of material.
Compile lesson plans to be replicated easily by others on the web , CD, or traditional booklet form.
