Higher Education Disaster Preparedness:  A-2405 (Lampitt/Diegnan/Coughlin)/S-2092 (Beach).  Passed the Assembly and the Senate and goes to the Governor’s desk.  This bill directs the governing board of each institution of higher education to develop and coordinate an emergency operations plan that will ensure the continuity of essential institution functions under all circumstances.  Under the bill, the plan must identify a baseline of preparedness for all potential emergencies, and be coordinated with State and local authorities including the State Office of Emergency Management.  NJEA supported this bill as we have policy supporting such efforts.
