Legislative Update June 13, 2011

Whistleblower Protections:  S-2839 (Weinberg) legislation which extends “whistleblower” protections to employees has been released by the Senate Labor Committee and is ready for a floor vote. The bill would strengthen existing law on employers who retaliate against workers when they speak out against governmental bodies that abuse their authority or show gross mismanagement.  NJEA supported the legislation.
