MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE: SCR1 (Sweeney) was heard in the Senate Labor Committee in accordance with Senate rules on senate concurrent resolutions. This constitutional amendment, if approved by the voters, would amend the constitution to increase the minimum wage from $7.25 per hour to $8.25 per hour and allow for annual adjustments based upon the Consumer Price Index (CPI). NJEA testified in support of this constitutional amendment. The resolution now heads to the floor for a full vote.
