Evaluation reform is in progress RIGHT NOW in New Jersey!
NJEA has concerns about how the new evaluation system will be implemented.
The State Board of Education must hear from members IMMEDIATELY to make sure educators’ voices help shape the final results.
What you can do
There are two things every member can do to ensure a fair and reliable evaluation process:
- First, use these talking points and instructions to send letters to the members of the State Board of Education.
- Second, conduct a 10-minute meeting with colleagues about the current state of evaluation in New Jersey and the importance of the member involvement in the process.
Your professional voice is critical to creating a fair and effective evaluation that benefits educators and students. Board members have told us they are reading the letters and some have already changed their minds. Let’s keep the letters coming!
