Student NJEA Conference helps educators start off right

“Leadership Matters” is the theme of the 2012 Student NJEA Conference (SNJEA) to be held on Saturday, April 21. The event will be held at the Hilton East Brunswick.
Following registration and continental breakfast at 8 a.m., NJEA Vice President Wendell Steinhauer and SNJEA President Andrew Lewis will welcome attendees at 9.
The general session will address the following topics:
- Are you really ready for that interview?
- Do you know your learning style?
- Do you really know the lifelong rewards of your career choice?
- Are you interested in starting a Student NJEA chapter on your campus?
Attendees can choose from the following topics for their two breakouts:
- Congratulations – You’ve made an Excellent Career Choice
- Landing your first job
- Kaleidoscope
- How to start a student NJEA chapter
An SNJEA general membership meeting will be held after lunch; nominations for 2012-13 SNJEA officers will be taken.
The conference is open to all college students—freshmen through seniors. Graduate students who are not already eligible for active NJEA membership may also join Student NJEA.
The workshop cost is $15 for Student NJEA members/NJEA members and $50 for nonmembers. This includes breakfast, lunch, exhibits, and workshop materials. Registration is required by April 13. Seating is limited, so register now.
