Find e-learning opportunities

NJEA’s E-Learning Academy is a repository of online professional development experiences, including courses of interest to educational support professionals.

See for yourself by visiting NJEA's “E-Learning Academy” (you must log in).

Once you “enter” the academy, click on “Register for Courses” to view a course catalog. You can browse the course listing by subject area or these categories:

  • Differentiated Instruction
  • Middle School
  • Technology
  • Assessment and Evaluation
  • Educational Leadership
  • English Language Learners
  • Content by NJEA
  • Character Education
  • Gifted and Talented
  • Inclusion
  • Response to Intervention
  • Classroom Management
  • Danielson: A Framework for Teaching
  • Data-driven Decision Making

Visitors can also search the catalog by presenter. This is especially helpful if you have found a presenter whose style you enjoy and want to take other courses they offer.

To learn more about a course, simply click on “More Information” and you’ll find a brief video description as well as a syllabus. If you like what you see and hear, select “Register” and you’ll be on your way to a great professional learning experience.

If you want to know more about the presenters featured in the E-Learning Academy, just click on “Educational Presenters” and you’ll find a photograph and short biography for each course developer.

Once you register for a course, you have two months to complete it before you need to re-register. Also, you can only register for up to three courses at a time.

Each completed course earns you two hours of professional development credit. Another great feature of the academy is that once you complete a course, those hours will be automatically logged into your personal NJEA PD Transcript, which is housed on the Teaching & Learning/Professional Learning page of njea.org. (You must be logged in to access your personal transcript.) In addition, you can print a certificate of completion for your files.

Concerned you’ll get bogged down with technical problems? Don’t worry—just click on the “FAQ” tab to find answers to frequently asked questions about the academy. Whether you’re wondering “What are the different options for viewing/listening to the lecture?” or “Are the pre- and post-assessments graded?” the answer is just a click away.

NJEA’s E-Learning Academy is operated by Knowledge Delivery Systems (KDS), a company that provides online professional development for educators. That’s why you will see the following statement at the bottom of every page: “Top of FormFor support, please contact us at NJEA@kdsi.org or at 800-728-0032.”

These courses are completely free to Association members. Get the most for your dues dollars and earn professional development at the same time. These well designed and informative courses will have a positive impact on the way you do your job and ultimately improve student learning.
