Last fall, Governor Christie appointed nine people to his Education Effectiveness Task Force, a high-stakes committee that could bring about fundamental changes in how teachers are recruited, hired, compensated and fired. Not one of the nine people chosen is a teacher or NJEA member. Instead the governor appointed people like Derrell Bradford, executive director and communications director for Excellent Education for Everyone, a school voucher group based in Newark.
