"Assemblyman Fuentes had a great time at HB Wilson and he found out that a teacher’s job is hard work. I love the “Teach For A Day” program because it really gives people who have preconceived opinions of what teachers do a real time look and feel for what teachers actually do. Teaching is hard but rewarding work" -

Assemblyman Angel Fuentes (D-Camden/Gloucester) spent the morning of March 4 as a teacher at the HB Wilson Elementary School in the Morgan Village section of Camden.

“It was great to meet the young men in Mr. Zahn’s fourth Grade class and to be a part of their learning experience today,” said Assemblyman Fuentes. “Mr. Zahn and Mr. Tapper work tirelessly every day to educate and help guide their students. They’re remarkable.”

Assemblyman Fuentes taught the students about his job responsibilities and how a bill becomes a law in New Jersey. He also read to them from Beverly Cleary’s The Mouse and the Motorcycle and gave the students their spelling words for the week.

“I had a great opportunity today to get a glimpse into the important work teachers do every day,” Assemblyman Fuentes added. “I appreciate the school for working with me to make this happen, and for the teachers who helped me prepare for the day.”

The Teach for a Day program was coordinated by Camden Education Association under the leadership of LaVerne Harvey, President of the organization.
