Take a stand on teacher evaluation

Published on Friday, July 5, 2013

We know you care about teacher evaluation, so why not go to the July State Board of Education meeting and voice your opinion?

As you know, a new evaluation system for teachers and principals will go into effect in September.  This is the last opportunity to testify before members of the State Board of Education on this topic, but you must register by noon on Friday, July 5. If you don’t want to testify (or you missed the registration deadline), but are passionate about teacher evaluation, you can still join us on Wednesday, July 10.

NJEA’s Lobby Day at the State Board of Education starts with breakfast at Rho Waterfront in Trenton where you will be briefed by a member of the NJEA Government Relations Division staff. The group will walk next door to the Department of Education to attend the State Board public meeting, which begins at 10 a.m. We will return to Rho for lunch and return for the testimony session at 2 p.m.

It is critical that board members know educators are paying attention to the State Board’s actions. Please join us in Trenton on Wednesday, July 10, for this Lobby Day.
