WBGO Kids Jazz concert seriesDiscover America's original musical art form at the WBGO Kids Jazz Concert Series - a free concert series bringing jazz culture and performance to neighborhood in Essex County. WBGO presents these concerts during the spring and fall on Saturday afternoons. These interactive, hour-long concerts give kids opportunities to learn about the distinct qualities of jazz, and why it's a reflection of our community, our nation, and our world. Q&A sessions with the artists, small gifts, and a chance to win a door prize are just some of the reasons to attend. All concerts begin at 12:30 PM, and last for approximately one hour. Please arrive 30 minutes early to ensure seating. Tickets are handed out in the lobby of each venue on the day of performance only and on a first-come, first-served basis. The concerts are free and open to the general public. Adults must be accompanied by a child. WBGO cannot guarantee seats prior to each program, except for groups with reservations.

If you’d like to bring a group of young people ages 4-18, thee KJCS Transportation Fund can help offset the costs of travel, particularly for those in Essex County. The fund has been made possible by a generous grant from the Agnes Varis Trust- supporting affordable access to the arts, education, and healthcare. Groups affiliated with non-profit organizations, churches, community associations, housing complexes, public or private entities can apply for transportation funding.
