The West Essex Regional School District is hosting its third annual one-day symposium for teachers (K-12), administrators, media specialists, school board members, and interested community members on the innovative use of technology in education. This free event will be held on Saturday, March 1 at West Essex Regional High School in North Caldwell. It runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; breakfast and lunch will be provided. Space is limited.
Dr. Joyce Valenza will keynote. Valenza speaks nationally about issues relating to libraries and thoughtful use of educational technology. She joined the faculty of Rutgers School of Communication and Information. For 10 years, she was the “techlife@school” columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer and is the author of Power Tools, Power Research Tools and Power Tools Recharged.
Workshops on a variety of hot topics will be offered, including QR Codes, Edmodo, Ipads, Skype, Pinterest, STEM and many more. Learn how educators are applying these tools in the classroom and across all grade levels and disciplines to increase student learning.
