Nominate scholar athletes for NJEA/News 12 recognition program

News 12

NJEA and News 12 New Jersey are seeking high school students who excel both academically and athletically. The NJEA/News 12 Scholar Athlete Recognition Program honors New Jersey high school seniors who are successful not only in the classroom, but on the court or on the field.

The Sports Department will select 30 applications.  Each week throughout the school year, a different student will be recognized, and appear on-air for his/her successes both on and off the playing field. The competition gets tougher every year!

In May or June of 2017, News 12 New Jersey and NJEA will conclude the program with a luncheon for all the nominated Scholar Athletes, their parents and school representatives.  A spokesperson from the News 12 New Jersey Sports Team and an NJEA official will present a commemorative award to all the Scholar Athletes. There will be five finalists selected and one will be the “Scholar Athlete of the Year”. The winner and finalists will receive a share of a scholarship pool funded by NJEA and News 12 New Jersey.
