1. Washington Township EA of Warren County: Senior Citizen Publishing Company Project--$694.50

"I plan on inviting approximately 40 Senior Citizens from the community to participate in the 'Senior Biography Program' with sixth graders. I will pair each of them up with a sixth grader to work on a book making project. The purpose will be for the sixth graders to interview the Seniors about special gatherings, celebrations, or reunions they have attended over the years. The theme this year is “Special Celebrations, Gatherings, or Reunions.” We will be celebrating our 20 year Senior Program Reunion. The Seniors will be answering a prepared list of interview questions about how they celebrated as a child in a safe responsible way. Their answers will be used for the student to make a biography to be gifted to their Senior in the Spring, as a memory and documentation of their time together. This project gives the Seniors in the community a chance to come into the school and be an integral part of the students’ education. It also allows the students to have wonderful role models to aspire to be like, and to learn from. The students will compile their answers into a well -written book, which will be presented to their Senior partners in the Spring. In the front of each book a Washington Township Pride in Education label will be affixed. A promotional item will also be handed out. The Washington Township Pride in Education banner will also be displayed. This project will include 6th graders, parents, staff, and Senior Citizens in the community."

4. Florence Township Education Association: Paramedic Emergency Squad and Little Bear Heroes -- $800.00.

"The FTEA will provide little hero bears to the children of Florence who need emergency assistance or services. The bear will wear a ribbon that says donated by the Florence Township Education Association. Whenever there is an emergency involving a child, the squad gives them a little hero bear. This is a former Pride activity that now continues, in order to supply the squad with the bears."
