FALL PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES

The association would like to make a positive connection with parents who attend the conferences. There will be a sign-in sheet to obtain contact information to create a database of education/association supporters. Adults who provide contact information will receive a thank-you letter (with the full association name), along with a customized splash pad folio, and NJEA study tips brochures.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT

The association would like to welcome back and meet new parents at Back-to-School night. A table, where the PRIDE banner (using our full association name) will be displayed, will be manned by AEA members who will greet parents and showcase association activities involving the community. The AEA will provide a bookmark to the parents who stop by the table and offer their email address and contact information. The information will be used to create a database of potential supports and to send a thank-you email for attending the evening.

GRANDPARENTS’ DAY

In celebration of Grandparents Day, K-2 teachers as representative and members of the Anytown EA would like to invite grandparents to their grandchild’s classroom. AEA will provide light refreshments and set up a table with the banner to collect contact information from the guests to use to invite them to future events and communicate regarding the school budget. The AEA will distribute fliers to the guests with the “Great Things Happening with Anytown Education Association.” Voter registration forms will also be available.

COMMUNITY DAY

Anytown Township hosts a Community Day. This is a day to celebrate being a part of the community. The association would like to set up a booth where our PRIDE banner will be displayed and members will be wearing an association t-shirt. AEA members along with parent volunteers will work together to interact with the community to highlight the connection between the association and community parents. AEA members will distribute fliers (with full association name) to invite parents to attend Community Day and to visit the AEA booth.

BOOK FAIR

The association along with the PTA will sponsor a school book fair. To assist in making a connection with the community and parents, the AEA would like to provide light refreshments for the parent volunteers who work the book fair. These volunteers will be asked by AEA members to supply contact information to be added to a growing database of potential supporters

PARENT CONFERENCES—SPRING

The association would like to make a connection with the parents who attend conferences. Members will work an association table where a promo item will be given to adults who offer contact information which will be used for our database and to send a follow-up thank you email. An NJEA tips brochure on Study Tips for Parents will also be handed out with our association label.

HIGH SCHOOL PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES

The association would like to continue developing a positive relationship with the parents. As a thank you for attending the spring high school conference s and for providing their contact information, parents will receive a customized vinyl document pouch. NJEA college brochures will be available as well as voter registration information.

CAFÉ NIGHT—Showcasing music program/students

The association will provide a Café Night for the families in the community. During Café Night, the students will perform a musical concert. The association will provide light refreshments to the community members who attend the concert. The invitation will include the full name of the association along with the Parent brochure that will be distributed to provide summer activity tips. There will be a sign-in sheet to obtain contact information that will be added to a database of supporters and to send a thank you email.

MULTICULTURAL NIGHT

The association will invite parents and students to attend an authentic evening of food, music and dance from Spanish and French speaking countries. The full association name will be used on the invitation. Information from the parent registration form will be added to the database of supporters. A customized message board will be attached to the thank-you letter that will include the full association name.

LITERACY NIGHT

The association will invite parents to the annual Literacy Night. This annual event fosters a working relationship between the association, community, and families. The importance of literacy skills is highlighted as students recite original work from the Poetry Club and demonstrate projects from the Science Club. The full association name will appear on the invitation. Contact information from the parent sign-in sheet will be added to the growing database. The full association name will appear on thank-you notes given with a customized lunch tote as parents register for the evening.
