56. A Mother's Day activity!
I heard from a local today that tried this fun Mother's Day event. The local used it to promote it's PRIDE in Public Education program (which, for the local, is new). However, you could use this to promote any of your local's programs or just do it for fun!
The local writes:
"Yesterday I came up with an idea to go along with other Teacher Appreciation Week activities in the building. I made four floral centerpieces and put them in the teachers' lounge with the refreshments that were provided by our PTA. I sent a flier to all our members to introduce our PRIDE program. Well, our members were talking about it all day and hoping to win the arrangements, which were lilacs, carnations, alstromeria, snap dragons, and dogwood. The men were even hoping to win since it was Mother's Day. I had one of our members draw the winning names. During the last period of the day, members of our local's exec board delivered the arrangements to the surprised winners' classrooms, and the winners were announced at the end of the day on the PA system. It was lots of fun and will do it again. Happy Mother's Day to all!"
