138. Do you have any members who are Google certified or National Board Certified?
Members are always seeking ways to improve their practices in the classroom. More and more members are taking advantage of resources from Google and Apple as well as seeking to better their practice via National Board Certification.
When these members complete their coursework and earn their certifications, what could your association do to not only honor them for their achievement but also seek to let other members know about the programs and how they can help improve instruction?
First of all, identify any of your members who may have these special certifications. When members are in the process of earning their certifications, local leaders could offer them support and even host a party or offer a congratulatory message (via email, at a faculty meeting, etc.) when the courses are completed.
Encourage these members to share their knowledge and skills to others via workshops, presentations, etc.
Encourage these members to host a column about emerging technologies and techniques in your association newsletter, website, or social media outlets.

Also, don’t just limit these celebrations and congratulations to your teachers. Remember that ESPs are required to hold licenses and certifications. These qualifications are often not easy to achieve and should be celebrated.
