Prezi is a free, online presentation tool, and it creates presentations that can only be described as " powerpoint's on steroids. It differs from powerpoint because it allows for the creators to manipulate the "slides" in many different ways: size, shape, paths, etc.

Wordle is a creative tool, which allows users to type in a variety of words and then customize how they appear to others. The user has complete control over the words that are chosen, as well as the colors, font, size, background, and even arrangement of the words. Wordle is a creative and engaging way for students and teachers of any discipline to create word maps/word walls.

Rubistar is an interactive, online rubric generator. An evaluator simply has to define the fields that he or she wants assessed and create the criteria for each field, and the program will create a legible, organized, full scale rubric!

Who hasn’t created a timeline or two in their day? TimeToast removes the work and packs in the fun. It is free. It is interactive. One can select predesigned timelines by other members or create your own. Create a timeline for the historical and social events behind a novel; investigate the critical movements of the Middle Ages. All content areas will want to use this site.

Xtranormal is website that allows us to unleash our movie making talents or at least explore them. You can type something and Xtranormal will turn it into a movie. It is pretty cool to see the movie being made right on your desktop.

Quizlet is an online tool that promotes the learning of vocabulary through virtual flashcards. The user can create his/her own flashcards for any subject or unit, but what is really valuable about this site is that there are already a wealth of pre-existing flashcards for all content areas.

Voicethread plays host to an impressive collaborative network where users can create, edit, publish, and comment on videos, documents, presentations or other media utilizing a media player. Though free accounts are available, with an EducationVoicethread class or school subscription, teachers can control and filter the level of access to student and educators, encouraging creativity and class participation in a safe and responsible environment.
