New Jersey Science Teacher Association’s (NJSTA) 10th annual Maitland P. Simmons Memorial Award Summer Institute will be held July 14-18 on the Busch campus of Rutgers University. Teachers of all middle school sciences are encouraged to apply and 24 will be accepted for the program. Participants will investigate how organisms are structured, ecosystems, heredity and biological evolution. In addition, teachers will explore Student Growth Objectives (SGOs) and develop Problem-Based Learning (PBL) units specifically for their classroom. Teachers will receive resources for their lessons and receive a one-day registration to the New Jersey Science Convention, where there will be a follow-up session.
All teachers are welcome to apply, but teachers who are accepted for the institute must become NJSTA members in order to participate.

Cost: $100 reservation fee, refunded upon completion of the institute.
