The Center for Literacy Development at Rutgers University will be hosting its annual Reading and Writing Conference on Friday March 28. It will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, New Brunswick.
The purpose of the Center for Literacy Development at Rutgers University is to enhance the study of literacy and application of the latest research within the field.
Keynote speaker Maureen McLaughlin, president of the International Reading Association, will address “The Common Core ELA Standards: Creating Rich Instructional Tasks for Grades K-8.” Additionally, well-known author and illustrator Patricia Polacco will speak. Polacco is known for her award-winning books such as Thank You Mr. Falker, The Art of Miss Chew, Babushka’s Doll and more.
Teachers, supervisors and administrators are invited to choose from over 20 workshops and to visit exhibitors showcasing the latest academic texts in the field.
