English teachers of Grades 7-12 are invited to attend the 18th annual New Jersey Writing Alliance (NJWA) Conference, “Letting Go: Empowering Student Engagement” on May 24 at Rutgers University.

The keynote speaker is Dr. Elizabethada A. Wright, professor of English, linguistics, and writing studies at University of Minnesota, Deluth. Presentations and workshops will focus on interdisciplinary writing projects and connections between reading and writing in all disciplines. The conference will focus on the pedagogical, institutional and economic issues that teachers of high school and college writing face, and presents a unique opportunity for dialogue and collaboration. This year’s conference will consider ways to engage students in the writing process while empowering them to develop their own unique voice.

The cost is $75. Registration ends on May 12.
