Italian Curriculum - Parents at Oakcrest High School in Mays Landing requested the school to offer a course on Italian American heritage and culture. The school now offers the curriculum that meets the common core and PARCC skills thanks to a curriculum created by the Department of Education's Italian and Italian American Heritage Commission. Over 70 lessons and videos are available for New Jersey educators. The lessons include a larger lesson on anti-immigrant messages that are prevalent in today’s political atmosphere.
New Jersey is among the top two states in the nation in the percentage of Advanced Placement (AP) exams taken by public high school students that result in scores high enough to qualify for college credit.
