Receives 2018 Humanitarian Award

NJEA President Marie Blistan was recently honored by Kidsbridge with its 2018 Humanitarian Award.  Blistan, a teacher of students with special needs in Washington Township (Gloucester Co.), was honored for her dedication to the wellbeing of children and all New Jersey families.

Blistan thanked Kidsbridge for the honor, and for the important work the organization does.  ”It is my honor to receive this recognition from Kidsbridge, an organization that supports our children by teaching life  skills that combat bullying and promote self-confidence and self-advocacy. Kidsbridge makes a difference one child at a time and their commitment to making the world a better place is commendable and such important work.”

Kidsbridge is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing imaginative, hands-on programs focusing on: bullying & cyberbullying prevention; tolerance, diversity appreciation & respect for all persons; individual and group empowerment; conflict resolution & empathy; sensitivity to persons with disabilities; understanding of LGBT persons; changing bystanders into UPstanders; and grassroots youth activism.

Based in Ewing, NJ, Kidsbridge provides resources for educators  and runs the Kidsbridge Tolerance Center.
