Richard Driscoll, 40, worked in
NJEA Information Systems
A 529 College Savings Plan has been established to receive donations for Jack Driscoll, the two-year-old son of Richard Driscoll, an NJEA staff member who died suddenly on Jan. 8. Having a passion for computers from a young age and a lifelong love for technology, Rich was hired as a computer technician in NJEA’s Information Systems unit in July 2017 and quickly became an indispensable, and much-loved colleague for both the staff and members.
His skills and vast knowledge as a computer technician led to his promotion as an associate director – senior IT support specialist in June 2024.
“There are no words to describe the hole left in our hearts with the passing of a great friend, Rich Driscoll,” his colleagues wrote in an earlier fundraiser to support his wife Kimberly and son Jack with immediate expenses. “Rich’s personality lit up the room, and he was a genuine friend to everyone that had the fortune of crossing his path. We all are better people for knowing such a kind and generous soul.”
NJEA members and staff are invited to contribute toward Jack’s 529 college savings plan. Donations can be made through Ugift. Contributions can be made at any time, birthdays, holidays or special occasions until Jack is out of college.
