NJEA Center for Honesty in Education

NJEA’s Center for Honesty in Education aims to combat disinformation, regressive policies, and dangerous rhetoric in local school districts by giving our association leaders the tools necessary to forge constructive partnerships with parents and other community stakeholders, keep partisan politics out of our public schools and—above all—ensure that our members can continue to support our students rebound from the pandemic in a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Rainbow Library

A rainbow of support

New Jersey is proud of its richly diverse population, and that pride extends to meeting the needs of its public school students. NJEA's Center for Honesty is committed to keeping our communities focused on providing safe, inclusive learning environments for all students.  To do that, we must also provide our educators with access to resources to support an LGBTQ+  inclusive curriculum. Through its partnership with NEA, the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN) is offering Rainbow Libraries, a series of award-winning, grade-aligned, LGBTQ+ affirming books, to over 2,200 schools in 30 states this spring.
