Sharon Ernst of East Amwell Township Schools in Hunterdon County was awarded a $2,899 grant to create a hydroponic growing project for East Amwell students. Students benefit from hands-on, inquiry-based STEM experiences that deepen their understanding of planting, sustainability practices and food production, but many do not have access to them. This project will provide preschool and inclusion students with greater access while providing fourth- and fifth-grade students with leadership opportunities as they create hydroponic gardens.
