Growing Environmental Activists

Lauren Zodl of Freehold Regional High School District in Monmouth County was awarded a $1,641 grant to provide juniors and seniors in AP Environmental Science the opportunity to conduct hand-on, inquiry-based labs by growing native plants. They will cultivate native trees and pollinator plants in the classroom using a grow light system. Students will plant these native species in the community and in the school courtyard garden, supporting biodiversity and conservation efforts in their own backyards.
