Passaic County educator Canaan Bump, from Wanaque School District, was awarded a $3,717 grant to create a Drum Club. This project focuses on the social and emotional needs of special education students. The ancient art of drumming has been used for centuries to bring communities together, build healthy connections and break down differences. The after-school club will expand extracurricular opportunities for students and enhance offerings for youth who are drawn to music.
