MBOS updates

Please be aware: the NJ Division of Pensions and Benefits (NJDPB) has been eliminating paper correspondence from their website? Recent deletions include the Direct Deposit form and the W4-P and NJW4P forms. Any retiree who would like to make changes to their banking information or tax withholding must make these changes through the Member Benefit Online System (MBOS).

If you haven’t registered for access to MBOS, you will need to do so through the NJDPB website. You will need your retirement ID number and your Social Security number. Your retirement ID number can be found on any statement you have received from the NJDPB. In addition to the elimination of these forms, the NJDPB will not accept paper application forms for medical benefits. Any changes to medical benefit information must be done now through mynjbenefitshub. All new retirees must submit their applications online.

Information was mailed to current retirees in December announcing this change and how to register. Registration is accomplished through a website called Benefitsolver. Once you are registered, there will then be a link on your myNewJersey homepage. If you have any questions, you can contact the NJ Division of Pensions and Benefits Client Services at 609-292-7524.

If you have been frustrated at times trying to contact the NJ Division of Pensions and Benefits Client Services by phone, the NJDPB has a new way that you can connect and get answers to your questions. There is now an opportunity to chat with a representative from the Division. Simply go to the NJ Division of Pensions and Benefits home page at https://www.state.nj.us/treasury/pensions/ and look for the “live chat” link at the bottom of the right side of the page.  Clinking on the link will connect you with a live representative who can assist you with questions.
