Randolph EA hosts parent conference

The Randolph Education Association (REA) partnered with the Latino Institute, Inc. to host a conference on Feb. 11 that included parents, community leaders, and school staff at Fernbrook Elementary School.

Using NJEA Families and Schools Together Work for Children (FAST) funding, the conference included a welcome breakfast, a keynote presentation by Xiomara Guevara, Esq., five concurrent workshops covering different topics, lunch and a closing.

Guevara is the Executive Vice President, COO and Chief Legal Officer for Greater Bergen Community Action. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Drew University, a master’s degree in Public Administration from New York University, and a law degree from Rutgers University’s School of Law. She has more than 20 years of non-profit management experience and most recently held the position of Executive Director at Morris County Organization for Hispanic Affairs. Guevara also taught at Fairleigh Dickinson University and Drew University.

The conference was coordinated by REA member Angela Cordova.
