Register for MBOS today

Retirees can access their pension accounts online through the Member Benefits Online System (MBOS). It’s fast and easy, and allows you to have your pension information at your fingertips. Best of all, registration is absolutely free!

To use MBOS, you must register with both MBOS and the MyNewJersey website. Simply follow these steps:

  1. Go to: https://www.state.nj.us/treasury/pensions/mbos-register.shtml
  2. Read the “disclaimer page” that automatically opens and click the “continue” button.
  3. Complete all the information requested on the MBOS “Member Registration” page.
  4. Be sure to select that you are registering as a retiree. You will need both your Social Security number and your pension member ID. Your pension member ID can be obtained from your previous employer or by contacting the Division’s Office of Client Services.

NOTE: If you register for MBOS as an active member, do not register again when you retire; you can continue to use your logon ID and password from your active account.

  1. When all the information has been entered, click the “submit” button. NOTE: At this point, MBOS checks to see if you have already registered. If it finds that you are already a registered MBOS user, it will automatically take you to the MyNewJersey “Log on” page. Once that page opens, you can view the MBOS log-on instructions for registered users.
  2. Once you’ve successfully registered, the MyNewJersey account page will open and you can get started!
