NJEA Jack Bertolino Summer Leadership Conference Scholarship Application

NJEA will be offering 24 First-Time Attendee Scholarships, one for each unit of representation (21 county affiliates, one higher education, one ESP, and one non-classroom teacher). This scholarship includes registration, meals, and room-and-board (double occupancy).

The purpose of this scholarship is threefold:

1. to continue strengthening NJEA and its affiliates
2. to afford an opportunity for active NJEA members to attend SLC for the first time
3. to assist those affiliates with severely limited budgets

Only first-time attendees who are active NJEA members may apply for this scholarship, and a local association may only receive a scholarship once every five years. Check here for a list of ineligible locals.

A completed scholarship application must be submitted online by May 3. Late applications will not be accepted. Applications will be forwarded to the county association/unit of representation where a selection will be made.

To ensure registration at the conference, the nominated member should be included with the local’s registration materials and include full payment. A local association whose member is chosen as a winner of one of the scholarships will be reimbursed.
