Union County educator Mary Greeley, from Winfield Township School District, was awarded a $10,000 grant to enhance and expand the school’s garden. The success of the school’s food garden, and the community’s designation as a food desert, motivated the project organizers to expand the growing season to help feed more people. This grant will fund hydroponic gardening for every homeroom. As with the school garden, the food will be shared with students, faculty, families, and senior citizens in the community.
